OPENING DAY MLB PICKS

Francisco Liriano- SP PIRATES- $7,700

Liriano is coming off an incredible Spring Campaign, striking out 14 batters in 12 innings, yet only surrendering 1 earned run.  He will face possibly the worst or second worst (Braves) offense in The MLB in the The Reds.  Liriano has averaged a K per inning against The Reds, and that was against superior squads.  He is 5 or 6 thousand dollars CHEAPER than the top guys, but could have a double digit strikeout performance, if you are looking for a mid-price ranged guy to roll with today, I think he has your best chance to put up big fantasy points.

Evan Longoria- 3B Tampa Bay- $6,400

Longoria is still the one bright spot on The Rays for this year.  The lineup around him is terrible, but the guy can still produce.  When it comes to making predictions in the first few weeks of the MLB season, batter VS pitcher is the only real way to make your choices.  Longoria might have the best numbers for the day when it comes to facing his foe: .394, 5 HRs, 1 SB in 33 apperances against Chris Tillman.  I’ll take those numbers all day long.  2-4 with a HR and 3 RBI’s is not a reach for Longo today at home.

Raja Davis- OF DETROIT - $5,200

Davis and Detroit will get to see if Phil Hughes can live up to his pre-draft rankings today.  I personally, am not a believer in Hughes, but I am a believer in The tigers offense.  Detroits 1-6 hitters are SCARY to look at.  Davis will lead off today and is a HUGE stolen base threat when he gets to first.  I don’t care if he gets hit by pitch 4 times and lets the 2 through 6 hitters drive him in.  I think Hughes is in for a long day, and I think Detroits scores 8 runs today, in that situation, I will almost always take the guy that is guaranteed the most plate apperances.

We have games contests starting at 1:00 and another slate starting at 3:00 pm for those who didn’t make it into the early slate.  Freerolls, big guarantees, 50/50’s and head to heads.  Start the 2015 MLB season of with $$ and bragging rights.    www.Draftdemons.com
